Private/public partnership between Breckenridge, Summit County, and private founders made this adaptive re-use project possible. The historic schoolhouse originally built in 1909, was transformed into a community centerpiece. The design is suited to its majestic mountain setting by framing the natural features of Breckenridge’s epic mountain slopes. Nearly 500 townsfolk came for the champagne, to toast the newly transformed building, outside, at night, in the dead of winter.
