The Lone Cone Library is THE centerpiece of the rural community of Norwood, Colorado. In addition to regular library programs, the library also celebrates what makes Norwood special: an exhibit honoring famed international climber Charlie Fowler, a state law library, sports equipment lending, unique community artwork, as well as a visitor center. The library is the hub of the town as a destination and launchpad for social activity with community-centered activities like adult craft nights, afternoon teas, free lunch programs, weekend food boxes, outdoor movie nights, and dark skies special events. In addition to cozy reading nooks and small group areas, the library’s design creates a unique variety of flexible spaces custom tailored to fit the community of Norwood.
- Serves as the community lifeblood for the town of Norwood.
- Light-filled gathering spaces for adults, teens, and children’s activities.
- Design allows for future inclusion of an amphitheater, greenhouse, and additional site amenities.
